Things are very much in flux at this time. If you've somehow found your way here, register and leave a comment.

I haven't had time to properly configure emails, so any board messages (including registration emails) will likely end up in your spam bucket.

Sorry about that. It's a step I've not yet reached.

Also, I'm playing with themes while I should be sleeping. It's actually testing, but it as at least amusing. Registered users can change their theme, of course.

Hi! The forum looks nice. Let me know if you need any help testing out the features while you set things up.

Right now, when I try to install packages, it claims that something isn't writable -- even though all the permissions have been changed to a disturbing 777.

What is claiming that?, Also what ever needs read access in parent directories.

SMF (the forum software) is making that claim. Every parent directory and every file (just to test) was switched to 777.

On top of that, I went in via SSH and ensured the ownership was correct.

Then, I checked the group - which was 'nobody' - and tried to even change that.

None of that worked.

So, I had a hunch...

I went and installed SMF in a directory (not a subdomain) and, sure enough, it works like a champ. So, it's something about a subdomain.

The support (that I'm paying for) is less than stellar, so we'll see how this goes.

Also, expect an incoming email shortly.

Alrighty...

I'll just blindly trust the two of you -- though you've never given me any reason to not trust you. (Please don't do so in the future. Thanks!)

Which of you wants to be an admin and which of you wants to be a moderator?

If you both want to be an admin, the more the merrier -- but try not to break anything.

Also, the forum works just fine when it's in a directory from the main URL. Well, it does so far. It has some errors, but it more or less works and those errors don't seem to be breaking anything important.

While I might tell us all to move over there, it'd be nice to get the current situation figured out.

I would not mind being an admin, but if Fedora wants to be an admin, I'd be fine being a moderator.

I would be happy to be a moderator. Thanks!

I'll make the change here. We may end up moving to a folder until I get this weird bug sorted.

I'll adjust the permissions shortly.
